 How to create an HTML website? Part I

It's easy to create an HTML website. The best part is you do not need to install any software to create HTML pages. You can directly start creating HTML websites using Notepad. That sounds fun? Keep reading.

I highly recommend using a reference website such as W3schools in conjunction with this tutorial to learn more and more. If you have any doubt's ask in the comments section and I'll do my best to answer them for you.

Let's begin. First, open the notepad. You will have an empty editor. Click on File and save. It will bring up a dialog, in the name specify the name of the page such as "first.htm" and change the file type to all and click save. Remember where you saved it. You need that file to see your webpage.

Copy the code below and paste it on your notepad.

<!DOCTYPE html> <!-- Specifies file type in this case HTML --->
<html<!-- Start of HTML document--->
<head<!-- Start of head tag --->
<title>Page Title</title<!-- Specifies title of your page --->
</head<!-- End of head tag --->
<body<!-- Start of body --->

<h1>This is a Heading</h1<!-- Header 1 --->
<p>This is a paragraph.</p<!-- A paragraph --->

</body<!-- End of body --->
</html<!-- End of HTML document --->

As you can see I've commented on the whole document for you. Watch the video to know more. Make required changes to change your page.

In the example, whatever you see are called tags. We also call this HTML markup. The markup defines what is displayed on the page. You can also change the colors of the page for that you need something called CSS. We will be using inline CSS.

For example, you can do something like this to change the color of the whole page.

<body style="background-color:DodgerBlue;">

If you watch the video, you will understand more. Check out the video. If you have questions, just ask.
